A short three-day itinerary can focus primarily on the gorilla encounter. Four or five days allow a more relaxed pace, while longer journeys can incorporate Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kibale, Lake Mburo and other Uganda destinations.
The most important planning principle is to secure the gorilla permit first, identify the correct trekking sector, match the accommodation and airstrip to that location, and then build the remainder of the safari around it.
